Sunday Hike to Dear Range Point.
At he Peak of Deer Range Point (EL 7,459′) we found a small pile of rocks. I took off my pack and sat down next to it and noticed the glass. It was a jar and I removed it from the pile of rocks and opened it up. A pencil, a paper notepad and a message written on the first page. Anyone could grab the pencil and scribble a message on the pad but apparently nobody has done so since November 17, 2000. Fourteen years have gone by since John Vitz and Don Dumont wrote their names on this paper.
